Homework Buddy (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Homework Buddy mobile application (package name com.homeworkbuddy.app) and this website. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app and services.
Homework Buddy is designed for parents and guardians to create printable learning activities for children. The app is not intended for children to use without parental involvement.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- Account information — such as a mobile number or sign-in identifier when you create an account (e.g. phone OTP or Google sign-in, when enabled).
- Activity preferences — class level, activity type, theme, duration, and difficulty you select to generate worksheets.
- Usage and entitlement data — such as free PDF limits, trial status, subscription status, and number of activities completed, stored on your device and (when connected) on our servers.
- Payment-related information — if you subscribe, payments may be processed via UPI or app-store billing. We do not store full payment card details; transaction references may be kept for support and accounting.
- Device information — basic technical data (app version, device type, OS) to improve stability and fix issues.
2. Information stored on your device
Some data is stored locally on your phone (for example, guest PDF usage, trial dates, and saved activities) using secure on-device storage. This helps the app work offline and enforce free-tier limits before server sync is available.
3. How we use your information
- Generate and deliver printable activity PDFs you request
- Manage free trials, subscriptions, and download limits
- Send optional reminders about your trial or subscription (with your permission)
- Improve app features, reliability, and parent experience
- Show optional in-app review prompts after successful PDF downloads (you can dismiss them; we do not collect review text)
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only:
- With service providers who help us operate the app (hosting, analytics, payment processors, authentication), under confidentiality obligations
- When you share a PDF via WhatsApp or other apps — you control what is sent; shared files may include branding text such as “Created with Homework Buddy ❤️”
- When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
5. Children’s privacy
The app is used by parents to create content for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a device passcode and keep your login details private.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law (including Indian law), you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g. notifications)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

9. Third-party links and payments
UPI and app-store payments are handled by third parties under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for practices of UPI apps, Google Play, or Apple App Store.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
